Secret Origins of Super-Heroes--an all-new collection! Green Arrow's awesome origin! The Legion's first case! And introducing DC's newest femme fatale--the Huntress!

"Secret Origins Of Super-Heroes"

Origin One: Green Arrow By Denny O'Neil and Mike Grell

Origin Two: The Legion of Super-Heroes By Jack C Harris and Juan Ortiz

Origin Three: The Huntress: also note: this is considered the 1st appearance of Helena Wayne. This Issue was simultaneously released with All Star Comics #69 (also considered to be her first appearance). By Paul Levitz, Joe Staton and Bob Layton

With new blood pumping through the Justice Society, adding a Batman character to the team seemed natural. While writer Paul Levitz and artist Joe Staton introduced the Huntress to the JSA in this month's All Star Comics# 69, they concurrently shaped her origin in DC Super Stars #17 (which counts as her first appearance) Although both books were released on the same day. Helena Waynes first appearance is Secret Origins of Super-Heroes #17. Helena Wayne was the daughter of Earth - 2's Batman and Catwoman. She took on the identity of Huntress when her mother died after being blackmailed by villain Silky Cernak. While Bruce Wayne burned his Batman costume in grief, Helena burned for revenge.

Note: This issue contains the Hostess Superhero Ad, Wonder Woman in "Cooky La Moo On Broadway."
